Mónica Taragano has performed many concerts in Europe, the USA and Latin America (Teatro Colón de Buenos Aires, Concertgebouw of Amsterdam, Cité de la Musique in Paris...). She plays with the same quality a wide range of repertory: baroque, contemporary, classical and also improvisation.

Her special interest in contemporary music led her to work with composers such as György Kurtág and Georges Aperghis. She also met Luciano Berio, whose Sequenza I she played in 2000, for the first time in the Teatro Colón. Between 2000 and 2003 she performed with the Ensemble Zellig and recorded the CD Thierry Pécou, Laissez faire au voyage, which was awarded the distinction “Les dix du répertoire”.

With guitarist Pablo Márquez and pianist Ezequiel Spucches she founded in 2003 the AlmaViva Ensemble, a core group specialized in Latin American chamber music. In 2005 the Ensemble toured Argentina and Uruguay, very well received by press and audiences alike.

She also takes part in the Gabriel Rivano Trio, with whom she realised their 2006 tour in Germany and recorded the CD La Luminosa for the German label Castle Concerts. She participated in the Veni Vidi Vixi project, lead by Franck Pétrel, putting in music Victor Hugo’s poems.
